NEW BEAUTY

Sandow Media's New Beauty online publication announced opening their first retail store in Boca Raton, FL for early 2008. One of the key features of the store is the ability to allow consumers have access to real world product reviews.

The initial concerns were usability and the ability to access a live database to retrieve the actual online reviews. The kiosk system, codename "Evaluation Station" uses a touch screen system and a barcode reader. The application itself was built entirely in Adobe's Flash 8, using Actionscript 2.0.

For a working demo, visit their only retail store located in Boca Raton, FL.

MOLI

Moli.com (Mainstream Holdings) is a social networking site built on open source solutions incorporating Ajax and web 2.0 standards. Initially was hired as a contractor to visually design "random" web component - such as their media player.

Later on, I was hired to lead the over redesign of the product. The biggest challenge was that I was not allowed to remove components from the site as the company only wanted me to "re-skin" their framework for the site. Taking the initiatives, I began adding and enhancing their sites to incorporate site ad generating revenues.

Aside from using banner ads, I prototyped a homepage sponsorship. Which later, the sales team incorporated it into their package.

PBMAI

This marketing company was using blogger.com as their blogging platform. The client wanted to migrate their blog site to another 3rd party service to be able to use a better "template design".

Finally, I had suggested for them to use WordPress as their blogging platform. Since WP is an open-source system, this would also allow them to maintain the blogging system on their own servers; in addition to having their own custom made themes/templates.

Project took two days for the initial comp designs in which 2 comps were delivered to the client for approval. Production time was a little over three days before launching.

CITRIX

Was hired as their Senior UI designer. The overall objective was to streamline their sales tools interface and make it easier for their team to implement and gather the required information. The overall recommended solution was for them to start using ajax based technology to help optimize the work flow for their users.

In addition to redefining the overall layout of the site, this also required a new direction for creative to help the users transition from their old rudimentary and basic design to a more intuitive work flow.

EDUCATION CONNECTION'S FUTURE SCHOLARS

Education Connection had decided to launch a new campaign in order help attract and qualify leads of potential students. The project was set with a short and strict deadline, due to the fact they wanted to release the new campaign on the same day Kaplan University kicks off their new enrollment plans.

After eight pots of coffee, six Starbucks run, five Chinese take out, and two heartburns - the project was successfully delivered to the client and ahead of schedule with an extra 5 day lead time for their tech team to implement the new design into their platform.

Last checked, the client said that their new site branding gained a 25% conversion rate during the initial launched in November 2008.
